This workshop is divided into 2 parts.

* CEUS available for Yoga Teachers upon completion of Part One & Two.

Part One – Our body is Our Brain: Foundations of an Embodiment Practice (15 hours)

Course One Focus:

* Somatic awareness & embodiment: cultivating spatial & emotional Intelligence through Proprioception & Interoception.

* The Anatomy of Breath via the 3 Diaphragms.

* Our Autonomic Nervous System, the Vagus Nerve & the Relaxation Response.

* Polyvagal Theory and its application in somatic and yoga therapy.

* Movement and touch to embody the integration of the organs, connective tissue, and breath to effect movement efficacy vital to eliminating strain and tension.

* Restorative tools for nervous system regulation.

* Bodywork: Gentle hands-on exploration for repatterning and releasing chronic holding areas.

Part Two – Diving deeper: Dynamic Alignment & Developmental Patterns (+10 hours)

* Upper body alignment: Explore pathways and relationships between the diaphragm, lungs, heart, in support of the head and neck, ribs, shoulders and arms, cervical and thoracic spine.

* Lower body alignment: Explore pathways and relationships between the abdominal organs, digestive tract, and pelvic diaphragm in support of the lumbar and sacral spine, pelvis, legs and feet.

* Postural assessments: developing a clearer understanding of postural habits and holding patterns through a holistic lens of our body-mind.

* Embryology & Developmental Patterns exploration: understanding the origins of movement & our biological support systems.

This course is for yoga practitioners, yoga teachers, athletes, dancers, bodyworkers, healthcare provider, social workers etc… who have an interest in exploring the embodied biological process in learning to regulate our stress response, and move through life with greater ease and resilience.

– You will be able to apply these tools for teaching yoga or movement, self-care, or in offering bodywork to support your clients and your loved ones.

A certification of Continuing Education Units will be given upon completion of full 25 hours.

ABOUT the Facilitator ~

Yoga with Daphne (E-RYT 500, RYS 200, C-AAYT), As a tactile bodyworker of various healing modalities, Daphne is trained in the art of Traditional Thai Yoga Massage, Biodynamic Cranial Sacral Therapy, Chi Nei Tsang (Abdominal Detox Massage), Tai Chi Massage and Reiki, all of which she infuses into the alchemy of her integrated bodywork offerings and yoga therapy. Daphne incorporates a heart-centred approach, the sensibilities of physiology, somatic education, functional anatomy, pain science, as well as insights into eastern philosophies and self-inquiry within her practice. Her therapy sessions, classes, workshops, and trainings are known to focus on breath and awareness. Together with a sense of play and curiosity, she hopes to create the nurturing presence and self-agency of our body-mind-spirit through the embodiment of these teachings.

Daphne has completed over 2,000 hours of teacher trainings and has taught over 5,000 hours in classes, private sessions, special needs yoga, workshops, retreats, and teacher trainings. She is a certified yoga therapist, movement educator, bodyworker, Anusara Inspired™ teacher, and an E-RYT500 Yoga Alliance Continuing Education Provider (YACEP). She started assisting and co-teaching in teacher trainings since 2013, and has been running her own embodiment and inquiry-based therapeutic training modules since 2014.
