Open Mic – Going The Distance

Welcome to a Free Bird Cafe’s Monthly Open Mic Night! Each month to choose a theme and explore pieces of music, writing & performance around that theme. This month’s theme is:

GOING THE DISTANCE – Pieces about journeys, crossing the finish line, and portals.

You can share original works, or pieces by your heroes & muses. Aim for 7 minutes of sharing time. You will have the opportunity to explain the significance of your piece to the theme if you’d like. Sign up to share when you arrive- the list opens at 7:30pm.

7:30-11pm You don’t have to get on stage to attend and enjoy everyone’s pieces, join us and bring your friends along!

Free Bird Cafe is a social enterprise generating resources for refugees in our community. The more we eat & drink, the more support we give! The menu is AMAZING- featuring unique dishes, high-quality ingredients, and invigorating cocktails. Come hungry and leave with a full belly and a full heart!

There are an acoustic guitar, two wireless mics with stands, an amp, speaker, AUX, some hand drums, if you need a backing track please have prepared on your phone, laptop or USB.
