As the rainy season transforms Chiang Mai into a landscape of lush greenery and natural beauty, Palette at 137 Pillars House Chiang Mai presents “Roots of the Monsoon” Afternoon Tea, a seasonal inspired afternoon tea experience celebrating the richness and abundance of Northern Thailand’s forests during the monsoon months.

Thoughtfully created by the culinary team at Palette, the collection combines the timeless charm of traditional afternoon tea with flavours, textures and colours inspired by nature’s most vibrant season.

The Roots of the Monsoon Afternoon Tea Set showcases premium ingredients and refined flavours. Savoury include Premium Beef with Caviar and Galangal Sambal, Black Truffle Chicken Choux, Tom Yum Black Fungus and Trout Fish Cucumber Roulade with salmon roe. The sweet selection features L’Ombre Vert Macaron, Pistachio Éclair, Canelé au Matcha Classique and Feuilleté au Frangipane, accompanied by freshly baked buttery and dried fig & pandan scones served with clotted cream, kiwi honey jam and lychee rose jam.

With Roots of the Monsoon, we wanted to capture that sense of abundance and transform it into an elegant afternoon tea experience that reflects both the beauty of nature and the understated luxury of 137 Pillars House Chiang Mai,” said Executive Chef Lakana Suakeaw.

Served amidst the hotel’s lush tropical gardens and heritage architecture, Roots of the Monsoon offers a peaceful escape where guests can slow down, immerse themselves in the beauty of the season and savour its distinctive flavours.

“Roots of the Monsoon” Afternoon Tea is available daily from 12.00 pm to 5.00 pm at Palette, 137 Pillars House Chiang Mai from 1 July 2026. Priced at THB 1,000++ per person and THB 2,000++ for two persons, each set includes a selection of premium tea.

For every afternoon tea sold, THB 50 from the one-person set and THB 100 from the two-person set will be donated to Root of 137 Pillars, our brand’s long-term reforestation and sustainability initiative on a dedicated 500-rai site in Ratchaburi Province.
