About the Event

Most people know who they are in public.

The version that functions well.

The version that fits expectations.

The version that earns approval.

But who exists when there is no audience?

When no one is watching decisions, reactions, or desires?

When curiosity, contradiction, impulse, or longing quietly surface?

Psychiatrist Carl Jung referred to these hidden aspects as the Shadow — the parts of the self that are suppressed or exiled because they do not fit a protected image. As Esther Perel has explored in her work on identity and desire, human beings are often far more complex and conflicted than the lives they allow themselves to live openly.

Living abroad can intensify this split. Reinvention, adaptation, and curated identities become survival tools. What remains hidden may grow louder, not because it is wrong, but because it has gone unheard.

Who Are You When No One Is Watching? is a reflective and thought-provoking workshop and meetup exploring the space between public identity and private self.

This is not therapy.

This is not confession or exposure.

Nothing is required to be shared.

The space is designed for honest inquiry, quiet reflection, and respectful dialogue.

Themes Explored

• Public Identity vs. Private Self — who is performed and why

• Hidden Desires and Shadow Aspects — the parts allowed only in private

• Self-Acceptance — what shifts when judgment is released

Listening is welcome.

Speaking selectively is welcome.

Keeping things private is welcome.

Presence matters more than performance.

Often, what is hidden shapes life more than what is shown.

Sometimes, simply acknowledging it loosens its grip.
