How about a weekend of cricket at the spectacular Chiangmai Gymkhana Club?
December 3 - December 5
The second Gymkhana Cricket Sixes will be taking place over three days between Friday 3rd and Sunday 5th December 2021 at the world famous Chiengmai Gymkhana Club cricket ground on the Old Chiang Mai-Lamphun Road.
Each year in April, for the past 30 plus years, the club has been home to the greatest Cricket Sixes in the world. Due to the pandemic, the tournament is currently awaiting the opening of the skies. To keep our cricket juices flowing, however, the club has put together this tournament, which was a resounding success last November, seeing Thai and expatriate teams competing from across Thailand.
This year, the event has gathered interest of up to twelve Thai based sides, all keen to renew acquaintances on and off the pitch. All eyes will be on the youthful side of Lamphun to see if they can retain the Cup from the 2020 tournament. The event will also feature a women’s match.
As well as the cricket, participants will be enjoying an opening reception under the tree at the Gymkhana Club on the Friday evening before Sandy Cullen and his team host Saturday night’s function at the UN Irish Pub. Presentations will take place at the ground after close of play on Sunday.
Spectators are welcome and admission is free. A full itinerary of matches can be found on the Facebook page: The Gymkhana Cricket Sixes.
This is a fun day out foe the entire family with food, drinks and great company. And with this cool weather, why sit at home in-front of the tv when you could be checking out these great views.
