TAT Lights Up Chiang Mai’s Walking Streets with “Chiang Mai Night Market”
The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), in collaboration with Chiang Mai Province, has launched “Chiang Mai Night Market,” transforming two of the city’s most iconic walking streets—Tha Phae and San Kamphaeng—into vibrant nighttime landmarks.
Held under the concepts “Tha Phae Remix Chiang Mai Remake” and “San Kamphaeng Remix Chiang Mai Remake,” the event blends local culture, creative lighting, digital art, and community storytelling to reimagine Chiang Mai’s walking streets through a contemporary lens.
Running from 17 January to 1 March 2026, the market takes place every Saturday at San Kamphaeng Walking Street and every Sunday at Tha Phae Walking Street, featuring immersive light installations, local crafts, street food, live music, and performances by popular Thai artists.
The initiative aims to inspire travel during the early months of 2026, support local creatives and entrepreneurs, and encourage visitors to experience Chiang Mai’s cultural charm after dark—while generating an estimated 186 million baht in tourism revenue.
Admission is free, with complimentary shuttle services provided.
