CMRU Joins Hands with Thailand–Taiwan Higher Education Network to Host “Taiwan Higher Education Expo 2026,” Empowering Youth for Global Opportunities
On September 2, 2026, Chiang Mai Rajabhat University (CMRU), in collaboration with the International Talent Circulation Base (INTACT Base) and Chaoyang University of Technology, organized the Taiwan Higher Education Expo 2026 (2026 INTENSE Education Fair) at Nimman Hall, 5th Floor, U Nimman Chiang Mai, Chiang Mai Province. The event aimed to promote academic exchange and provide young people with opportunities to access international higher education.
The opening ceremony was presided over by Ms. Kunphatwee Phiriyanant, Secretary to the President of the Chiang Mai Provincial Administrative Organization. The event was honored by welcoming remarks from Associate Professor Dr. Chatree Maneekosol, President of Chiang Mai Rajabhat University; Ms. Ann Y.H. Hsueh, representing the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Thailand; and Prof. Tao-Ming Cheng, President of Chaoyang University of Technology.
The event also featured a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signing ceremony among partner institutions to strengthen collaboration and coordination in organizing the exhibition and to ensure the achievement of its objectives. The signing was led by Assistant Professor Somkiat Wongpanich, Vice President of Rajamangala University of Technology Lanna, and Ms. Atchariya Krutharoj, Assistant to the President of Lampang Rajabhat University. The ceremony was further honored by the presence of Associate Professor Dr. Weerapol Thongma, President of Maejo University, as well as representatives of university administrators, faculty members, and teachers from universities and schools across Chiang Mai and neighboring areas.
The expo was held as a follow-up to the cooperation agreement signed between Chiang Mai Rajabhat University and INTACT Base on November 10, 2025, which seeks to integrate resources and strengthen collaboration with the Taiwan Ministry of Education, the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Thailand, and the industrial sector. Approximately 20 higher education institutions from Taiwan participated in the exhibition, while more than 1,200 students, educators, and members of the public attended the event to explore information on academic programs, scholarships, and emerging professional fields.
This collaboration not only supports Chiang Mai Rajabhat University’s internationalization strategy, but also expands cooperation networks in research, personnel exchange, and academic collaboration, while further strengthening the longstanding relationship between higher education institutions in Thailand and Taiwan. The initiative is expected to create new opportunities for education and career development for students and young people in Chiang Mai and neighboring areas.
