Another important step took place for Starfish Education Foundation and Starfish Innovation Co. Ltd, which are cooperating to create a model school for educational innovation, promoting 21st century skills for children through the Starfish Maker project, and further expanding coaching skills for Thai educators through the online platform Starfish Labz, to prepare for the classroom of the future. Starfish Education Foundation and Starfish Innovation Company Ltd (a social enterprise) held the event “Starfish Maker Partnership” with Mr. Kitthanet Phanpanuchat of the Chiang Mai Provincial Education Department presiding over the opening ceremony on Friday, 23 August 2019 at the Imperial Ballroom of the Empress Hotel in Chiang Mai. Another important step took place for Starfish Education Foundation and Starfish Innovation Co. Ltd, which are cooperating to create a model school for educational innovation, promoting 21st century skills for children through the Starfish Maker project, and further expanding coaching skills for Thai educators through the online platform Starfish Labz, to prepare for the classroom of the future. This event aims to create a community network for learning and professional development for educators. It is also an opportunity for educators to adopt the STEAM Design Process at their schools, to meet each other, and to present and exchange experiences with each other. The event had presentations by 7 pilot schools from 6 educational districts in Chiang Mai that have joined the Starfish Maker program. They introduced Makerspace and STEAM Design Process activities to apply in the context of their schools until their students have good results. Additionally, there was a discussion on the topic ” What Must Change in Thai Education for Thai Children to Have 21st Century Skills” by a national educator speaker. This was an opportunity for participants, be they school directors, teachers, educators or those who have played an important role in education exchange to comment and share the concepts of experience as a guideline for creating a collaborative learning community in the future.
