Chiang Mai Municipality, in collaboration with the Allied Network Partners Organization, has organized a kick-off event to promote awareness of diversity, equality, and human value under the concept of “WE’RE ALL HUMAN.” The “Pride of Chiang Mai 2024” event serves as a platform to express pride in equality and is a significant annual festival for the LGBTQ+ community. This year marks the third iteration of the event, which promises to be grander than ever. Chiang Mai Municipality, in conjunction with numerous agencies, will host the Pride of Chiang Mai 2024 on June 1-2, 2024. The festival will feature a Pride Parade to celebrate Pride Month, centered around the theme “WE’RE ALL HUMAN – Regardless of gender, everyone has inherent value.” Mr. Assanee Buranupakorn, the Mayor of Chiang Mai, revealed that the two-day event will include a parade that promotes and preserves traditional Lanna culture as well as contemporary Chiang Mai culture. The parade will involve schools, universities, communities within the municipality, along with famous celebrities, influencers, and various members of the LGBTQ+ community. In addition to entertainment, the event will host exhibitions aimed at educating the public about LGBTQ+ knowledge, such as marriage equality laws, the meaning of gender, and equality for all genders and ages. These exhibitions, represented through the colors of the Pride flag, intend to provide a clearer understanding of the activities. Chiang Mai Municipality prioritizes human equality and actively supports events that allow all groups, genders, and ages to participate in showcasing their inherent value every year. “Regardless of gender, equality stands unwavering for everyone.
