Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (Public Organization) or TCEB has readied to hold the World Tea and Coffee Expo 2022 (WTCE 2022) from 24 to 27 February 2022 at the Empress Convention Centre, the Empress Hotel, Chiang Mai. .. WTCE 2022, the largest tea and coffee event in the North, opens in a drive to put Thai industry on world map .. The event, conducted in a hybrid style, on site and on line, to prevent the spread of Covid-19, is instrumental to pivot the northern Thai region into a global production and trading hub of coffee and tea. .. The event comprises three parts — symposium, trade show and business matching. .. The exposition has brought bring together 50 exhibitors with 45 of them being Thai companies drawn from the northern, north-eastern and southern regions, and five others from overseas. .. At the symposium, a total of 30 experts, ten of whom from Thailand and 20 from abroad including China, Japan, Myanmar, Vietnam, Nepal, India and Guatemala will share their knowledge and insights in six topical issues via Zoom and on the actual location. .. Participants will have access to the latest information and knowledge on production, market trends and best practices related to the world’s most favourite drinks. .. The business matching allows sellers to meet buyers in face to face, expanding trade and investment with buyers from all over the country. .. WTCE 2022 will complement the image of the readiness of the coffee tea business chain in the north, with Chiang Mai as the centre of the high-quality coffee and Chiang Rai as a great source of tea. .. And it is expected that this event will drive the destination branding of the two northern cities to become more pronounced. .. TCEB is committed to make WTCE 2022 a role model for the MICE development to serve as an important tool in spurring the region as a hub for coffee and tea-related production, trade, investment and tourism in Thailand. .. The event is expected to attract over 1,000 attendants with more than ten million baht worth of transactions conducted in the course of four days, she said. .. The event will be beneficial directly to the coffee and tea growers in the upper part of the North especially Chiang Mai, Lamphun, Lampang, Mae Hong Son, Chiang Rai, Phayao, Phrae and Nan, she concluded. ..
