The 7th Irish Film Festival returns to Chiang Mai!

Chiang Mai, 7 November 2025 – The Embassy of Ireland in Thailand is proudly hosting its 7 th annual Irish Film Festival, which returns to Chiang Mai from 7 to 9 November at SFX Cinema, Maya Chiang Mai, which this year also marks the 50 th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Ireland and Thailand.

The Festival features a diverse line-up of Irish films that combine comedy, drama, and heartfelt emotion and each one is crafted by some of Ireland’s most talented directors and actors. Audiences will enjoy stories that reflect everyday life, history, and the diverse voices of modern Ireland.

Highlights from this year’s programme include:

The Banshees of Inisherin, a 9-time Oscar nominated film, including a nomination for Best Picture, that conveys the story of friendship and isolation.

Four Mothers, a moving drama exploring family bonds. Fidil Ghorm, a beautiful film in the Irish language (Gaeilge) that captures the power of imagination and belonging.

Admission to all screenings is free of charge, with tickets available for collection at the box office one hour before each screening (limit of two tickets per person).
