Big Bad Wolf Books Returns to Chiang Mai with International Book Sale Offering Discounts of Up to 90%
Book lovers and collectors in Chiang Mai are in for a treat as the International Book Sale Featuring Big Bad Wolf Books returns to the city for ten days, bringing together a huge selection of Thai and international books with discounts of up to 90%.
Organised by Plan For Kids Co., Ltd. in collaboration with Big Bad Wolf Books, the event runs from 28th August to 6th September 2026, from 10am to 9pm, at Chiang Mai Hall, Central Chiangmai Airport.
This year’s sale features books from more than 40 publishers, with an extensive collection of titles sourced from around the world alongside books from leading Thai publishing houses.
The event officially opened in the presence of Risruan Aramcharoen, Managing Director of Plan For Kids Co., Ltd.; Traswin Jittidecharak, Director of Silkworm Books; and Rungkaew Lekklalert from Big Bad Wolf Books, together with representatives from partner organisations.
Adding a distinctly northern flavour to the opening ceremony, students from Tessaban Umong 1 School and Umong Wittayakom School presented traditional performances including Klong Sabad Chai, the celebrated Lanna victory drum performance, and Thing Bong Boek Fa Maharam, creating a lively and colourful welcome for visitors.
The International Book Sale offers an enormous variety of genres, including history, biography, entertainment, sport, non-fiction, travel, literature, short stories, novels, manga, interior design, architecture, hobbies, cookbooks and reference books. Collectors can also browse special-edition titles and books designed specifically for collecting.
Families with young children will find a large selection of educational books and learning materials aimed at different stages of childhood development. These include books on child development and psychology, children’s stories, picture books and audio books.
There are also hands-on learning and play activities presented by PlanToys and Plan For Kids, giving children opportunities to develop new skills while having fun.
The event also features education booths from leading international schools in Chiang Mai, as well as the Dino Play Space by Plan For Kids and storytelling sessions on stage, making the book fair an experience for the whole family rather than simply a place to shop.
Visitors are encouraged to bring their own reusable bags and prepare for plenty of browsing, discovering and bargain hunting throughout the ten-day event.
