Bangkok-based Tasana Nagavajara, Thailand’s top violinist who has graced major concert halls across five continents will be opening the new season at High Note with two very different outdoor concerts, surrounded by breathtaking views of Doi Suthep and the city skyline: Bangkok-based « Pro Musica Trio » will be performing Piazzolla’s Nuevo. By blending it with jazz and classical music, dissonant classical harmonies (Stravinsky, Bartok), counterpoint, and a wider instrumentation, Piazzolla pushed tango’s boundaries into a sophisticated, modern art form that preserves its passionate core.
