The Chiang Mai International Fantastic Film Festival (CIFAN), supported by the Department of Cultural Promotion, Ministry of Culture, will be held from September 20-27, 2025, at Chiang Mai Railway Park, Major Cineplex CentralFestival Chiang Mai, and San Pa Khoi Building. The festival aims to develop knowledge and interest in the production skills of fantastic films, a highly popular genre among audiences. It also showcases Lanna culture, creating significant value for the city and the country. The festival also stimulates tourism. The event is packed with a variety of activities, including:
7. Official Selected Film: A selection of fantastic films from around the world screened in both regular and IMAX theaters at Major Cineplex Central Festival Chiang Mai.
2. Short Film: A selection of fantastic short films for youth, university students, and the general public who participated in the project competition.
3. Concert: Concerts featuring artists such as Polycat, Musketeers, Phu Lae Band, SL Music, Mai Muang, and
Spoodlherm Option.
4. Entertainment EXPO: A collection of booths and interesting activities related to communication work from both the education and private sectors.
5. Training and seminars to enhance knowledge and skills for industry professionals: Training for filming locations, grip and lighting training, audition preparation training, and acting training for extras. and a seminar on the future of Thai Fantastic Films.
6. Taste, Shop, and Enjoy a Variety of Food and Souvenirs: Food and souvenir stalls are available during the festival.
7. CIFAN City Rally: Enjoy, shop, eat, and watch Fantastic Films. Then, go on a hunt to collect stamps and redeem prizes like an iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone Air, along with prizes worth over 100,000 baht.

Issue 1: Mr. Thosapol Phueanudom, Governor of Chiang Mai Province, announced the operational guidelines and development plans for Chiang Mai Province.
Following the Royal Decree appointing Mr. Thosapol Phueanudom as the 42nd Governor of Chiang Mai Province on September 5, 2025, the Governor of Chiang Mai Province began his official duties on September 6, 2025. He revealed his strong intention to return to develop Chiang Mai Province and his dedication to serving the country by incorporating His Majesty’s royal initiatives into his work guidelines alongside the implementation of government policies, particularly the urgent policies addressing four key issues: economic, security, natural disasters, and social issues. This is to alleviate suffering and promote well-being for the people of Chiang Mai Province to the best of his ability and to achieve concrete results. This aims to make Chiang Mai “a city of life and prosperity, a city of ultimate cultural elegance.” On the basis of fair and sustainable distribution of opportunities.”
