Experience the charm of Lanna in a new light through soft power, which will transform Chiang Mai into a “World Festival Destination.”

On Monday, September 22, 2025, at 6:00 PM, the Chiang Mai Provincial Tourism and Sports Office organized the “Chiang Mai Festival City: 12 Months, 12 Festivals” kick-off event at Central Festival Chiang Mai. Mr. Weeraphong Ritrod, Deputy Governor of Chiang Mai Province, presided over the ceremony, and Mr. Itthirat Sinarak, Chiang Mai Provincial Tourism and Sports Officer, gave the opening speech. The event aims to raise awareness of creative tourism under the “12 Months, 12 Festivals” campaign under the “Elevate Chiang Mai as a Creative City with Soft Power” project, a key mechanism supporting Chiang Mai’s path to becoming a “World Festival Destination.” This event not only raises tourism awareness but also extends soft power through Lanna culture, traditions, and way of life, presented in a contemporary format. This aims to attract tourists to visit all seasons, 365 days a year.

The event also features key activities, including:
• 12 Check-In activities, “Snap & Share” activities
• Passport to Chiang Mai & E-Passport
• “Snap, Check, Share” activities, where prizes are exchanged, souvenirs, and gift vouchers are given away.

All of these activities help create a vibrant tourism atmosphere, stimulate the local economy, and establish Chiang Mai as a destination for both new and returning tourists.
