DIPROM Showcases Potential at “DIPROM Center 1 Open House 2025”Enhancing Northern Entrepreneurs with Mechanisms to Generate Over 700 Million Baht in Economic ValueChiang Mai, September 9, 2025 – The Department of Industrial Promotion (DIPROM) has demonstrated its success in driving local economic development in Northern Thailand, focusing on enhancing the potential of entrepreneurs and creating new opportunities for adaptation, survival, and growth. Utilizing the power of “MIND,” which emphasizes creativity and development through both intellect and emotion, combined with “MIND AS ONE,” the initiative integrates collaboration from all sectors under the policy “DIPROM Community: Here to Give.” This encompasses four key areas: soft power, sustainability, aging society, and the Northern Economic Corridor, successfully developing 647 SMEs and community enterprises while reducing greenhouse gas emissions by over 48,000 tons of CO2 equivalent, generating an economic value of over 700 million Baht in the region.Dr. Natthapol Rangsitphon, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Industry, stated that today’s world is rapidly and increasingly complex due to economic, social, and environmental changes. These changes stem from sudden digital disruptions that completely transform business models and consumer behavior, along with climate change impacts affecting business survival and growth in a new environment. Geopolitical volatility creates uncertainties in supply chains, and diverse global trade policies directly impact the industry and entrepreneurs. Therefore, adapting and enhancing business capabilities is crucial for survival and growth. The Ministry of Industry places great importance on developing the Thai industry for stable and sustainable growth through the collaborative efforts of government, private sectors, educational institutions, and communities to create strong partnerships. Following the “MIND AS ONE” approach, we unite efforts to elevate the potential of the Thai industry to compete globally.Ms. Nuttaya Netyasupha, Director-General of DIPROM, indicated that in 2025, DIPROM operates under the policy “DIPROM Community: Here to Give,” aiming to reform operations in a new format that addresses macroeconomic issues in the industry linked to global economic trends. This includes restructuring traditional industries to support the economic sector, attracting investment in high-potential fields, and assisting Thai entrepreneurs to strengthen their ability to adapt, survive, and grow through 11 regional centers nationwide under the “4 Give, 1 Reform” strategy. In the upper northern region, which has diverse potential in resources, culture, and trade, DIPROM is committed to developing support mechanisms for entrepreneurs and community enterprises in the area to ensure continuous growth and effective responses to challenges and new opportunities. To reflect DIPROM’s role, mission, capabilities, and operational successes in a comprehensive manner, the “DIPROM Center 1 Open House 2025” event has been organized. This event showcases approaches aligned with the “4 Give” strategy, which includes:

“Giving New Skills” through panel discussions and keynote speeches highlighting government policies, global economic trends, and new business opportunities to enhance necessary knowledge and skills to tackle challenges, featuring seven successful entrepreneurs as case studies.

“Providing Modern Tools” through various services at the Service Hub of the Industrial Promotion Center 1, including consulting, product development, packaging design, production trials, and access to working capital services across eight service centers.

“Offering Growth Opportunities” through networking activities to facilitate connections between entrepreneurs and relevant partners, resulting in expanded business opportunities and collaboration among 24 organizations.

“Supporting Good Businesses for Communities” through exhibitions and showcases that align with the development trends of the economy, society, and environment, divided into four zones: Soft Power, Sustainability, Aging Society, and the Northern Economic Corridor (NEC – Creative LANNA).

Ms. Nuttaya further noted that through activities in these four areas, DIPROM has created an economic value of over 700 million Baht in the upper northern region, developed 647 SMEs and community enterprises, and significantly reduced greenhouse gas emissions by over 48,000 tons of CO2 equivalent. This underscores DIPROM’s role as a crucial mechanism in driving regional economic growth and ensuring sustainability for the Thai industrial sector. “Today’s event showcases DIPROM’s commitment to developing local entrepreneurs to adapt for sustainable survival and growth. Moreover, it serves as a platform for knowledge exchange and systematic collaboration, fostering networks, inspiring, and expanding business opportunities, strengthening capacities, and benefiting entrepreneurs. This will lead to market expansion, stimulate investment, and create long-term economic value in the region, reflecting the collaborative spirit in developing regional economies and genuinely enhancing the potential of northern entrepreneurs,” Ms. Nuttaya concluded.
