Anantara Chiang Mai Resort Unveils New Afternoon Tea

In anticipation of the new season, Anantara Chiang Mai Resort unveils its new afternoon tea menu, traditionally English yet imbued with a hint of the tropics.
Anantara Chiang Mai Resort offers the perfect setting for the refined ritual of afternoon tea. Its century-old heritage house, formerly the British consulate, is an island of tranquillity surrounded by landscaped gardens. And the teak verandah offers a welcome respite from the afternoon sun.
The small feast is served on the Wedgwood Paeonia Blush collection, each layer tantalising with handcrafted creations from Chef David Eldridge and team.
To begin, the savouries: Parma ham tarlets still warm from the oven, smoked salmon blinis, and finger sandwiches, with the classic cucumber of course included.
Always a guest favourite is the freshly baked scones: these are accompanied by homemade clotted cream and seasonal lychee jam.
Crowning them all are sweet bites so exquisitely crafted, they are almost too beautiful to consume. Highlights are the longan flower and honey cake, with the honey sourced from local hives, and the mulberry and passion fruit mousse which combines perfectly sweet, tart and light.
The accompanying tea is from the premium TWG and Monsoon collections, including the novel flavours of Thai Iced Milk Tea and Tha Pae Gate, in honour of the resort’s Chiang Mai location.
The tropical twist on the traditional also includes iced coffee and a selection of sorbets, including homemade mango, and gelatos to cool off.
