Opening of The Shape of Colour at 116 Art Gallery – abstract memories of time and place an exhibition by UK artist Geoffrey Pimlott RWS –Exhibition on display from 12 November – 10 December 2017. Geoffrey explained his paintings quite often emerge from small linear drawings of inter-related shapes, made in pen or pencil and develop, on the working surface, as geometric/asymmetric arrangements of shapes, which, together with the use of raw colour, are the starting points for his non-representational compositions engaging the visual senses in these compositions of shape and colour. The works presented are part of current, on-going series of visual responses to urban and architectural forms
