CityNews – A sting operation was carried out on September 13 after residents took a complaint to the Government Lottery Office claiming vendors behind San Pa Khoi market had reportedly been selling overpriced lottery tickets.
The sting operation lead to the arrest of 30-year-old Nattaporn Puangmalee from Tha Sa La, who was caught in the act selling undercover officials lottery tickets for 85 baht each.
The new price for lottery tickets, as decided by the junta on May 1, is 80 baht.
The current penalty for selling overpriced lottery tickets is up to 1 month in jail, a fine of up to 10,000 baht or both.
Nattaporn awaits prosecution.
