CityNews – A woman was intimidated by a songtaew driver after being mistaken for Grab car driver.
On June 17th, Jaruwan Sukpunya posted on her Facebook sharing a recent distressing encounter with a songtaew driver at Arcade Bus Station. She stated that she was driving around waiting to pick up her mum from the station when a songtaew forced her to pull over by flashing lights, honking and approaching so closely to her car she felt she has no other choice but to pull over.
When she pulled over, the songtaew driver rolled down his window and began verbally blasting her so aggressively that she could only respond by saying that she was picking up her mum. She said that she was very upset by the encounter especially since she pregnant and actually feared for her life.
After criticising such unprofessional and unacceptable behaviour of the songtaew, she added that she reported the incident with the Department of Land Transport who suggested she call the police. Her post has gone viral on social media with over 1.4k shares. This is not the only case of such incidence which has occurred, especially at the bus station.
