CityNews – The National Astronomical Research Institute of Thailand (NARIT) has invited the public to join in watching the Super Full Moon on November 14th.
A star gazing party organised by NARIT will be held at a few locations around the city, with telescopes and educational presentations about how to stargaze, what causes a super full moon, how to use star charts and explaining more about astronomy.
The first event will take place on November 6, at the Three Kings Monument.
The second event will take place on November 14, at Central Festival Chiang Mai.
Super full moon gazing will then happen again in 2017 on the following dates: January 14 at Central Festival Chiang Mai; February 3 at the Chiang Mai Night Safari; February 25 at the Sirindhorn Observatory Chiang Mai University, and March 4 at Central Festival Chiang Mai.
As the super full moon will fall on the same day as the Loy Krathong Festivals on November 14, people have been invited to join in both activities at Central Festival from 5pm to 10pm before heading to the candle ceremony and paying respects to His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej at 7.09pm.
