CityNews – Twelve students were injured when their school van collided with a ten wheel truck filled with rice whisky in San Sai district.
The incidence occurred on the Chiang Mai – Phrao Road around 7.30 am on 7th June.
The van, transporting students from Dara Academy, Yupparaj Wittayalai School and Chiang Mai Vocational College, was hit from the back and side by the ten-wheeled truck.
12 students were brought to San Sai Hospital for non-serious injuries.
The truck crashed into the van on the road due to the high speed of driving from both drivers. The crates of rice whisky fell onto the road causing a long traffic jam.
Uthit Daoree, the truck driver, has been charged for reckless driving. The children suffered from minor injuries.
