Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn, Minister of Tourism and Sports officiated over the starting point of the Thailand By UTMB 2020 trail competition on Saturday.
The competition was held between the 30th October and 1st November and was split into five categories; 170km, 120km, 80km, 25km and 10km and has been dubbed the New Normal Race with the highest point of the race being at 2,100m above sea level and the lowest at 400m.
It is believed that this one event alone has generated upwards of 50 million baht for the Chiang Mai economy.
Many Thai and foreign runners braved the (relative) cold to compete in a race which saw them running through hill tribe villages, major tourist attractions and farms.
