CityNews – On April 9, Chiang Mai was hit by a strong thunderstorm, damaging many buildings and cars.
The thunderstorm came with strong winds that caused many trees to collapse, one crushing a car (pictured). The thunderstorm also brought hail storms and power cuts across Chiang Mai.
Huay Tueng Tao’s lakeside restaurants were also destroyed.
However, the storm did blow away some of the smog in time for Songkran, helping reduce humidity.
