Officials are rushing to fix the section of the Chiang Mai-Chiang Rai road swept away by recent flash floods.

Heavy rains early on the morning of 27th June caused three sections of the road to be swept away, making the major highway inaccessible. The three sections are all in Ban Mae Wan, T. Pa Miang, Doi Saket.

Chiang Mai’s deputy governor announced yesterday that while teams are working around the clock to fix the road, it may take longer than expected as more rains are predicted for the coming week. However, he told CityNews, it is now possible to navigate the road, as a quick fix has been made, but there could be heavy congestion and other routes are recommended.
