CityNews – The 7th Regional Office of Fine Arts, Chiang Mai discovered human and equine bones at Wiang Tha Kan heritage site in San Pa Tong District.

A total of 34 pieces of bones were found on reportedly good condition.  Archaeologists have determined that they are the remains of a woman, a man and a child aged less than two years old, possibly that they were a family, and a big horse. All of them are at least a thousand years old.

The dig was pursued after an initial discovery in 2013.  The area is assumed to be an ancient cemetery.  Such discoveries have only been found in Nakhon Ratchasima, Lopburi, and Sukhothai, to date.
