It has been eight days now since news of the latest Covid-19 patient, and businesses are anticipating an increase of tourism by the beginning of February. Some tourist destinations are already reporting that there has been a surge of local tourists over the past few days.
Khun Chang Khian, atop Doi Suthep, has had a steady stream of visitors, mostly local, over the past few weeks, who go to admire the beautiful blooms of ‘Thai sakura’.
If you haven’t had the pleasure, the flowers are expected to bloom for another week to ten days.
Weekends are particularly busy and traffic is jammed, so if possible, make your way up the mountain mid-week.
