The recent strong winds and heavy rains have done great damage to the earthen wall of Wat Yang Kuang, Hai Ya sub-district, said Thodsak Yenjura, Director of the Archeological Sites Preservation Group, Fine Arts Department Chiang Mai.

Around 10 metres of the wall has been badly damaged, along with a pickup truck which was parked by the wall this past Sunday night.

Thodsak told the media that this wall is around a century old and is considered of historical importance and that the department will do everything they can to restore it as best they can.
