Temple Gate Collapses Injuring Deputy Abbot

CityNews – August 17th, the gate at Wat Tham Pakpiang, a temple in Chiang Dao area, collapsed and caused a fatal head injury to the temple’s deputy abbot.

The deputy abbot was identified as Boontueng Utaro. He received first aid before he was taken to hospital.

According to the temple’s care taker, Boonyuang Lekchai, 54, the deputy abbot and three other monks noticed the gate was in disrepair. They were afraid it would collapse on people passing through. Hence, they helped each other to remove the gate.

As they were working on it, the gate collapsed, causing the injury.
