CityNews – A shop owner demanded TMB Bank to take responsibility for the cheque fraud that cost him 2.4 million baht.

On June 13th, Werawat Lerdkasemkun, 42, an appliance store owner, filed a complaint demanding justice on a cheque fraud case. Between 2017 and 2018 his former accountant was prosecuted after cashing cheques using forged signatures, which cost the company to lose 2.4 million baht. After the lawsuit, 2 million baht was been paid back but the accountant refused to pay the rest.

Werawat has reached out to the bank for assistance but the bank has denied any responsibility. He stated that this issue is partly the bank’s fault, as it failed to identify forged signature, in spite of him having conducted transactions with the bank for many years. Werawat demands TMB Bank to take the responsibility.
