Security Increases at Chiang Mai Airport in Response to Brussels Attack

CityNews – Chiang Mai Airport increases security following the bombing of Brussels’ airport and metro earlier this week.

Sqn.Ldr. Monthanik Rakngam, Vice President and Deputy General Manager of Chiang Mai International Airport, announced this week that Wing 41 and authorities at the airport have increased certain security measures so the airport will be more prepare for any unexpect situations, if they were to arise.

Right now, guards will be randomly spot checking vehicles for bombs and other dangerous items, more police will be patrolling the airport and an EOD team will be ready for emergency situations if they were arise.

Any unattended luggage will be quickly dealt with and any unattended cars in the drop-off or pick-up areas will also be removed.
