A nun disappeared from Wat Pa Tham Pha Pheung in Chaprakarn District on the 29th of October and there is currently a large search of the area for her.
Mae Chee Phan, 56, disappeared from her temple on the evening of the 29th following a seven day fast. According to friends, her body was very weak and she broke her fast with one meal before retiring for the night.
Citing a pair of pesky spirits who had been bothering her, she asked another nun whether she could sleep in her guti while she was away. She has not been seen again and it is feared that in her weak state she may have wandered off and got lost in the jungle.
