Region 5 Police Arrested Two Yaba Dealers with 100,000 Pills

CityNews – Two men were arrested in Amphur Mae Ai this week in a drug sting operation. One suspect is now facing an attempted murder charge.

At 10 a.m. on 30th April, Pol. Maj .Gen. Chamnan Raudrew, Region 5 Deputy Commissioner and the Region 5 police arrested Japor Saekajue (60) and Mongkol Theppawan (61) with 100,000 pills of methamphetamine that were packed into 50 fertiliser bags.

Prior to the arrest Region 5 police received a report that two suspects were selling yaba in Amphur Mae Ai. Police set up a drug buy with the dealers in front of San Pa Sak Monk’s Office.

After the dealers handed over 100,000 pills in exchange for three million baht, police arrested the men. Mongkol was arrested, but Japor made a run for it and stabbed the policeman with a sword during his escape. The officers then shot Japor in the foot. He was then taken to Mae Ai hospital. He was charged for resisting arrest and attempted murder on top of a drug dealing charge.
