CityNews – Locals are complaining about a newly opened walking street on Prapokklao Road on Mondays and Fridays.

Piemsuk Leekitwattana, 60, filed a petition to immediately cancel a recently opened walking street that closes down Prapokklao Road on Mondays and Fridays. The petition signed by local residents cites concerns for traffic congestion which will arise from having the market which starts at 6pm to 11pm.

Piemsuk stated that the market was a surprise to the community. It started on July 2nd and has been continued since then. Piemsuk pointed out that there was no public hearing about starting a walking street in the neighbourhood while also questioning the market’s contribution to the community’s economy, as many of the vendors are not from the neighbourhood. Piemsuk reported seeing license plates from other provinces as we all foreign vendors.
