CityNews – Prince Royal’s College has been criticised after a video clip of a student hazing ritual went viral.
On June 18th, the Prince Royal’s College held a press conference to discuss the recent video clip of a student hazing ritual that went viral on social media. The video showed students being shouted at by their seniors in a loud and boisterous manner while they were blindfolded. They were forced to do jumps and were ordered to roll around on the concrete ground.
The video caused concern among parents.
Dr. Sirinan Sriwerasku, director of Prince Royal’s College, stated that the school was aware of the activity but the violent and aggressive nature of the hazing was never intended. They said that the school discourages any act of violence, but promotes love and unity among its students.
The school later apologised about the issue and stated that staff have been talking with the senior students involved, and have promised to keep a close eye on any future students activities.
