Price hike for Thais entering national parks, as they prepare to reopen

The  Department of National Parks, Wildlife and Plant Conservation Chiang Mai, which also oversees parks in Lamphun and Mae Hong Son, has announced that there will be an increase in entrance fees as of the 7th June of this year. 

According to authorities, the fees for foreign nationals will remain the same, however Thai entrance fees will increase from the current prices of 20 baht per child and 50 baht per adult, to 30 baht per child and 60 baht per adult. (Foreign nationals pay 150 baht per child and 300 baht per adult.) These prices are applied at only three national parks – Doi Inthanon, Doi Pha Hom Pok and Huay Nam Dang.

Eight other national parks across the provinces will charge previous rates of 10 baht per child and 20 baht per adult and 50 baht per child and 100 per adult.

For your information the cost for setting up a tent in national parks is 30 baht per person per tent per night, 600 baht per mobile trailer and 200 bath for tents attached to vehicles.    

To rent a three-man tent costs 225 baht per night and for a full service two man tent the price is 2,000 baht per night.  

There are exceptions for young children, the elderly, monks and such which are worth looking into on the official web sites if you wish to go.
