CityNews – The National Parks authorities have been holding practices and drills in anticipation of the high season, a time when mass tourism leads to numerous accidents and emergencies.
December 14th, the National Park joined rescuer teams at Inthanon National Park to prepare for safety measures to protect tourists. There were car and natural accident simulations as well as practice for helicopter airlifts.
A conference followed the drill where question and answer sessions were held as well as discussions on improving safety measures.
Inthanon National Park has an officer to take care of tourist safety and put aside facilities for any urgent needs. Warning signs have been posted all along the 108 Doi Inthanon Highway and the 1009 Jomthong–Inthanon.
