Pollution worsening and businesses hurting

CityNews – 23rd February 2020, Doi Suthep is no longer clearly visible to most of the city.

Similarly, Chiang Mai city can’t be clearly visible from the top of Doi Suthep.  Insau, 50, a vendor near the viewpoint spot on top of Doi Suthep said to CityNews that the polluted haze together with COVID-19, have caused tourists not to come up Doi Suthep which has led to severe decrease in revenue causing hardship to many of her colleagues.

Meanwhile, according to the website airvisual.com, air quality index (AQI) was at 132, ranking Chiang Mai as No. 16 (for air pollution) in the world.
