CityNews – A secretive university hazing ritual that has affected the lives of 13 students is not a case, police said.
Following recent revelations of a secretive hazing ritual at the Rajamangala University of Technology Lanna that was exposed by a sister of one of the students who had endured this aggressive fraternity, Pol. Lt. Gen Piyapan Pattarapongsin, the Deputy Commander of Chiang Mai Provincial Police stated that the matter is recorded in the police station’s incident report only, as the sister has not yet filed a case against anyone. He explained that there has been a physical examination of the student who has been harassed, and that the injuries caused by this “university tradition” were minor. He added that students on both sides will be interviewed, and that there is “nothing to worry about” and this “won’t probably be a case.” Police urged the university to seek solution and find a common ground while they will be “the middle man for both sides to smooth things out.”
