CityNews – On 3rd October Chiang Rai Police arrested Pidtanet Laosang (27), Wikrom Rakkotmai (28), Alum Kala (36), and Krittapak Kala (30) on the Mae Cha –Chiang Saen Road. Police seized 976,000 pills of yaba, 35 kg of heroine, and 1 kg of ice.
Police said they had information that a car would be going to Bangkok from Mae Chan with a large amount of drugs.
When police tried to pull the car over it attempted an escape so police stopped the car by shooting the tyres.
The men said they were paid 100,000 baht to deliver the drugs to Bangkok. The street price of this load is in the many millions of dollars (US), considering that one kilogram of heroin alone is worth somewhere in the region of 70-100,000 dollars (US).
