CityNews – The Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Chiang Mai announced today that the Phra Chao Phrom Bridge that connects Saraphi and Hang Dong will be closed to cars, trucks and other large vehicles after the bridge was found to be decaying slightly.
For health and safety reasons the bridge will remain closed until it is fixed. Repair teams will be evaluating the bridge soon.
To ease some congestion in the area, the bridge will remain open for motorcycles, pushbikes and pedestrians as their weight will have no affect on the bridge’s strength for the time being.
