Yesterday morning saw a nine vehicle pileup at the Rincome intersection. Police arrived to find that a cement truck had rammed the back of a car which then dominoed into others in front.
There was one injured party, a twenties something woman, who was taken to hospital, but is said to recover fully. One of the vehicles in the pileup belonged to a policeman, and it took traffic police around an hour to end the ensuing gridlock.
The driver of the cement truck said that while he was only driving at around 30-40kmk per hour, he couldn’t brake in time when reaching the intersection.
