CityNews – April 5th, new extension road from Nimmanhaemin to Wing 41 opens today.
This short new road, 500 metres long and costing 30 million baht, is called 720th Sompoch Chiang Mai Road, and was officially opened this morning in hopes of alleviating the sluggish traffic around the Suthep/Nimman Intersection. Pol. Lt. Col. Patcharapon Wongjarit, Deputy Superintendent of Chiang Mai Traffic Police, said that he firmly believes that this new road will help with the area’s congestion. He said that he will be monitoring traffic flow closely over the next month and will make any adjustments necessary after a full study.
