Yesterday evening a small group of Burmese labourers gathered in front of the US Consulate General to show solidarity with Aung San Suu Kyi and to protest the recent coup in Myanmar.
A member of the protest told CityNews that he was sad to see his country regress and hopes that all Burmese people in Chiang Mai come out and show their condemnation of the military government in a peaceful manner
The group dispersed after one hour but vow to return at a later date.
