CityNews – The Chiang Mai Municipality has announced in a press conference that they plan to re-organise the Sunday Walking Street and Night Bazaar markets after reports and complaints on social media that many vendors are subletting their designated areas.

The Municipality plans to issue new permits to 3,000 vendors, registered in 2015. New trader applications will also be considered.

According to the press release, 326 vendors broke court regulations, and the Municipality plans to prepare evidence and issue complaints to City Hall. Those who wish to follow the rules and cooperate with the Municipality will be given a chance to prove their trustworthiness.
