Mudslide Causes Accident in Lampang: Nine Injured

CityNews – A car crashed into a pickup truck in middle of the night because of a mudslide in Lampang on May 8th. Nine people were injured.

At around 9 p.m Pol.Lt. Sanoh Kampeeraphan, Lampang Police Investigator, received a call about a car accident at Wangkoy Bridge, Tambon Baanauem. He dispatched rescue units from Lampang Hospital, Surasakmontri and Lampang Rescue association also went to the scene to investigate.

At the scene officials found a badly damaged pickup truck and nearby were wounded persons lying in the road. The rescue teams applied first aid and took the people to the hospital. Also nearby was a black Ford sedan with front end damage. The owner, Kanlaya Jang-arun, was helping the injured when the rescue team arrived.

Police say that Kanlaya, who was on her way to work at Lampang Hospital, had arrived at a section of dark road covered with mud that had fallen into the road. She had lost control of her car and smashed into the pickup truck. The injured nine people were all sitting in the truck bed. Three persons sustained serious head trauma, one trauma to the chest, and five escaped with minor injuries
