CityNews – On 16th September around 10 a.m. Provincial Police Region 5 announced the arrest of four men Nattawat Kerdsuk (44), Tanyapat Khamdet (41), Santad Naluang (18) and Supachok Polkokklong (25), who police say were carrying 800,000 “WY” amphetamine pills in four big black backpacks while travelling on a bus.
Police had been tipped off that the drugs would be coming to Chiang Rai by bus. On 15th September around 8.45 p.m., they stopped a tour bus coming from Khon Kaen at a checkpoint between Baan Nong Mor and Wat Rong Khun and asked to search it whereupon the drugs were discovered.
The men told police that the final destination for the drugs was Bangkok, and if they had succeeded they would have been paid 2,000,000 baht.
