CityNews – 25th November 2019, on the compound of Wat Hua Fai, Charoenrit Sa-nguansat, Chiang Mai governor, Pol. Lt. Gen. Prachuab Wongsuk, commissioner of provincial police region 5, and Col. Boonrit Kaset-yuean, deputy commander of area 33, various governmental officers and community networks along the Mae Kha canal and its branches held a meeting to listen to each other about a model for building a bridge for crossing Mae Kha and for improving landscape along both banks of the canal around the areas of Hua Fai – Kam Phaeng Ngam community.

As for the bridge model, Saphan Boon (Boon bridge) was considered as the proto-type following the area survey by Air Chief Marshall Sathitphong Suwimol (royal secretary of His Majesty) who saw this curve-type bridge to be good for boats to pass under.  So, it was agreed that this type is to be the model for building bridges for other locations along the Mae Kha canal. It was also agreed that there will be renovation of landscape along both banks of the canal with the aim of improving quality of life for residents along the canal as well as drawing in tourists.  People who live along Mae Kha agreed with this plan and are willing to help make their environment become more attractive.
