CityNews – On 16th July Chiang Mai City Police Station arrested suspect Somchai Kanokwiwat (46), an employee of Full Moon Massage on Loi Kroh Road, after they received a report from a Japanese tourist, Miko (20), stating she had been sexually violated by Somchai.
Miko told police that at around 10 p.m. she visited the shop and asked for a two hour oil massage. She was then asked to take off her clothes, and a towel was handed to her.
During the massage Miko said that Somchai asked her if she wanted her breasts, stomach, and vagina massaged. She didn’t know what to say but he started the massage when he thought he saw her nod her head.
Following the massage Miko told her Thai boyfriend what had happened, after which the boyfriend called the police.
After Somchai was apprehended it was reported in the Tharath that he ‘couldn’t control himself’. He has been charged with raping a woman who is not his wife.
The police have not allowed Somchai bail because they fear he may threaten witnesses. Police are in the process of investigating male masseuses in tourist areas.
