High-speed chase and gunfight results in multi-car pile-up

On the night of the 1st August around 8pm a multi-car pile-up occurred on the Chiang Mai-Hang Dong road.

Three cars and one motorbike were involved in the crash which saw two men in their thirties taken to the hospital.

Police say that a black car heading from the Ping River bridge had caused the incident. The black car in question had been involved in a high speed chase as well as a gun fight with police when it drove through the red light, hitting another car and causing the collisions.

Police later inspected the car and found two sacks of drugs. But the driver of this vehicle escaped and police are still hunting him down.
